Alison Withey, President and Founder

Alison is an expert in marketing, corporate and internal communications.  She combines 19 years of experience on both the client and agency side of the business to bring a broad spectrum of capabilities to her practice.  

For ten years, Alison headed up the communications function at the pharmaceutical company, Eli Lilly Canada Inc.  While at Lilly, she managed all elements of the communications role, including marketing, corporate and internal communications.  Her focus over the years included strategic planning, media relations, awareness building, issues and crisis management, media and message training, stakeholder relations, product launches, special events and internal communications. 

Alison also spent six years working with two of Canada's top public relations firms.  Key accounts at the time included well known brands in the following business categories: airline, courier, entertainment, financial, food, automotive, technology, pharmaceutical, advocacy, management consulting, Boards of Trade and market research organizations, to mention a few.

In addition to getting her clients in the news, Alison is well versed at keeping them out.  Her experience managing issues includes: employee downsizing, counterfeit product, price increases and product recalls.

Currently, Alison is President and Founder of Blue Whale Communications Inc., specializing in the development, execution and analysis of marketing communications plans.
